What Can I Expect When I Go Home?
- You may have some discomfort at the injection site.
- Your relief of pain may not be soon. It may get worse, before it gets better, but improve in 48 – 72 hours. The steroid may cause your face to flush and give you a feeling of warmth for 24 – 48 hours. It may also make you feel anxious/agitated. This is not an allergic reaction, rather a short-term side effect.
When I Go Home, What Can I Do?
- Drink 8 – 10 large glasses of liquids.
- Do Not do any strenuous activity or heavy lifting, otherwise, resume your usual activities.
- You may resume your usual medicine.
What should I NOT do?
- If you have received sedation, do not drive or operate power equipment for 24hours.
Notify Your Doctor If You Have:
- Headache
- Temperature of 100.4 degrees Fahrenheit or above
- Difficulty emptying your bladder
- Severe pain, redness, swelling, or drainage at the injection site
- Weakness of legs
